PT Otsuka Indonesia is a pharmaceutical and nutrition company that is part of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a global company based in Japan. Established in 1974, PT Otsuka Indonesia focuses on the development, production, and distribution of high-quality and innovative pharmaceutical products, medical devices, IV infusions, and nutritional supplements. With their new office located in Pondok Indah, Jakarta, PT Otsuka Indonesia considers meeting rooms as a crucial element in planning their facilities. These meeting rooms are designed to meet various needs, including internal and external meetings, as well as online and hybrid formats. Additionally, the meeting rooms are also used for entertainment activities.

Challenge

PT Otsuka Indonesia faced challenges in selecting the right solution for their new meeting rooms. These challenges included the need to integrate a system capable of supporting both formal and informal meetings, as well as providing support for entertainment activities such as karaoke, body combat, etc. Additional challenges arose from the room’s structure, which features extensive glass surfaces and a ceiling height that is less than optimal for ceiling microphones. PT Otsuka Indonesia also required a system that is user-friendly and can be operated by various users with different technical skill levels.

Solution

In search of a solution, PT Otsuka Indonesia collaborated with Smartfren as the System Integrator, who offered various product options from Shure. After in-depth consultations and a product demo, the Shure MXA920 ceiling microphone was selected as the primary solution, following the precedent set by PT Otsuka’s sister company, which had also used the Shure MXA910.

The room’s system is also supported by subwoofers, speakers, and a mixer to meet entertainment needs. The project was completed in 2023 with full support from the Smartfren team as the System Integrator and Goshen as the official Shure distributor in Indonesia. After one year of use, the Shure MXA920 has proven to be highly effective in meeting PT Otsuka Indonesia’s needs. The system setup is managed through Shure Designer, a software that simplifies the configuration of ceiling microphones, speakers, and other devices. According to PT Otsuka Indonesia’s engineers, the system installed in their room is “easy to use.”
